Getting from Pier 1 to Plaza de la Marina

If your cruise ship is docking at Malaga, it’s highly likely that it stops at the Eastern Dock (Pier 1). To get to from Pier 1 to the historic center the first step is to make your way to Plaza de la Marina, located on the other side of the port and the edge of the historic center. There are a few different ways to do this:

  • Bus: The bus costs 5 euros and the journey time is approximately 5 minutes. Buses run every 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Taxi: If your time is limited, we recommend taking a taxi to Plaza de la Marina. There is a taxi rank outside the cruise terminal.
  • Walk: It is possible to walk to Plaza de la Marina, the distance is about 1.5 kilometers and the walk will take you around 20 minutes. Follow the port all the way to the end then walk underneath the white pergola, and this will lead you right up to Plaza de la Marina.

Getting from Pier 2 to Plaza de la Marina

If you are on a smaller cruise ship, your cruise may dock at Pier 2, which is actually much closer to the city center! After crossing the bridge which connects the cruise liner to the pier, you are underneath a white pergola, and you follow this just a few minutes all the way up to Plaza de la Marina.

How to get from Plaza de la Marina to your tour meeting point

Our two tours have two different meeting points, so read on to follow the instructions from Plaza de la Marina to the correct meeting point for your tour.

Our Daytime Market, Tapas & City Tour

Since most of the city center in Malaga is car free, you have no other option but to walk from Plaza de la Marina to the tour’s meeting point. From the square you cross the main road at the crosswalk and head straight down Calle Larios, the main shopping street you will see in front of you. Calle Larios ends in Plaza de la Constitución, where you will see our guide waiting by the fountain with a Devour Malaga Food Tours sign.

Our Evening Tapas, Wine & Culture Tour

Our evening tapas tour meets very close to Plaza de la Marina. From the square you cross the main road at the crosswalk and head to Calle Larios, the large main shopping street that is right in front of you. Our meeting point is on the left-hand side of Calle Larios, approximately 10 meters down in front of the Women’s Secret store located at Calle Larios, 18.
